Suggestions for a cranky, stressed husband....all suggestions welcome.....
by restrangled inmy poor guy is crabbier than hell.
i have kept him well fed, but it doesn't seem to do the trick.
i am calling on all men out there to tell me what to do and i know sex is an answer too, but is there anything in addition to this you guys wish for when work/life is stressing you out?.

At the risk of being crude....
It's not the sex... it's the Enthusiasm!
And it might require the KIND of sex where he doesn't have to really DO anything, once in a while.
-----Watch the movie "Parenthood"
Men need to be needed... but they WANT to be WANTED!
As far as anger towards "idiots"... try getting him away from "idiots". Just please, don't try what makes YOU feel better.
Sorry.. am I sharing a little too much about ME here?
good luck!
Does he have any friends??? -

What are the qualifications for being of the "annointed"?
by hubert inam i correct to say that the "annointed" are the 144,000 that will be with jesus in heaven, according to the watchtower?.
if so, in ....luke 23:43...jesus said to "dismas" (the good thief) who was also being crucified along with jesus, "truly i tell you today you will be with me in paradise".. wouldn't this make dismus "one of the annointed"?.
wouldn't this also show that dismus, who had no qualifications for being of the annointed, went to heaven with jesus and became one?.

Jeezzzsh Mary!
Why does everything have to be so "Biblical" with you? I KNOW that's what the Bible says... but that's NOT what they meant... You really need someone to help you understand what was being impied by the words.. not what was being said by them. Sure, You have a knowledge of scriptures and can probably prove just about any bizarre thing that you want with them... but is that really honoring Jehovah by being obedient?I think...just maybe...someone should quit examining the scriptures so much and just examine themselves.......
Now hurry up... you're gonna be late for the meeting.

still, no harm in trying .

The bottom line is: GOD does not call everyone. The high and mighty, the "educated", the proud and the ego chasers need only to humble themselves but most are too complacent, happy and content with the way things are........what a shame!!!
He may not answer everyone either.....
I'm stealing your line though!!!!!

Hey Abandoned,
I have to agree with some of the others... Gettin' your money and your Honey in the same place is pretty tricky.... PLUS, Why would you need to look anywhere other than JWD for a girlfriend?... The hottest, smartest, sweetest people are right here!
IMHO+++ Before you go chasing anymore skirts... You owe it to yourself to read chapter 4 of M.Scott Peck's "The Road Less Traveled" pretty powerful stuff....
Hang in there buddy!

Hey Cellist, I think that you are an exceptional person and a great thinker. Please don't let criticism dampen your passion. Please also remember that all people have different defense mechanisms. It is completely understandable that they resort to statements that will hopefully quiet the opinions of those that bring up perspectives on God that they associate with the ignorance and pain displayed by so many religious people. Although many evolutionist consider themselves "realist", they are (by their very statements) claiming that they WANT to live in world that has protective boundries that are considered scientific facts. There has always been a fear of the unknown in certain persons... especially if past experiences with the unknown have been painful ones. To a certain degree, we are all just wounded children trying to make sense out of an enigma... it's utterly futile to think that we could even grasp the most basic qualities of a Grand Creator... or the entire history of an evolutionary approach... but it's is even more futile to ignore what has given each us some level of peace. Perhaps we are all just trying to share our recovery with one another and could use some lessons in tact... I KNOW I could! Thou he slay me, Yet I will trust in Him!

What scary stories were you told?
by sundawn77 ini'm new here; i "faded away" 3 years ago.
i'll tell my story soon when it's not so hard to think about.. i'm just wondering what stories other people were told about demons that ensured that nobody watched scary movies or listened to certain music (in my case, stevie nicks, go figure).
elders and my friends' parents, and other kids in the congregation all had stories of people watching movies and waking up to see a demon in their room!

Welcome to the board!
Still havent seen the Exorcist.... but really don't want to.
I remember riding my bike home in the dark once after visiting with some other kids and the topic actually went to demons. I remember pedaling as fast as I could and chanting, "Jehovah...Jehovah...Jehovah...Jehovah" all the way home!
I was saturated with those type of stories growing up! Second hand sofas that had political pins squished down between the cushions... appearantly the pin saturated the whole couch and it wouldn't even burn!... Shoes seem to be really popular places for demons to hang out too. Had an uncle wearing second hand shoes that caught himself on fire while repairing a carburetor. Luckily, most of these stories had an elder close by that was able to somehow get rid of the infestation.... and didn't even have to use a herd of pigs!
For chuckles, I wrote a similar post a while back...
I wonder how long tell there's a "young people ask" article:
"With all the Demons having nothing better to do than set up house inside items that have been set aside for garage sales, should I, as a young person who loves Jehovah and his organization just avoid these Satanic garage sales entirely. Or can I just safely go to the garage sales of my faithful brothers and sisters from the Kingdom Hall. Also, If I eat a hamburger from a Demon possessed restaurant, how can I get rid of it... Should I enduce vomiting or just wait to poop it out later. If I do wait for it to pass naturally, would I be better off wiping my butt with a watchtower than toilet paper.... You can't be too careful, you know" -

Is manner of dress more important than respect for Jehovah?
by LaurieM inmy mother and i were discussing the fact that she was told by a minister of the jehovah's witnesses upon being asked whether mother was going to be attending a book study at her local kingdom hall and mother requested whether she could wear slacks she was told that it would not show respect to jehovah and that women in the kingdom hall should "dress appropriately" by wearing skirts or dresses.
after discussing this, my mother and i feel that the manner of dress of a jehovah's witnesses, whether man or woman is totally irrelevant to respect to jehovah god.
clearly, even if one were to present themselves at hall in rags, that person is not disrespectful to jehovah if his mind and heart are open to god's word.

WELCOME to The BOARD!!!
Read your statement... You'll do very well here!
Here's a clip from a "slighted" related position to your topic:
Wow... I was just thinking how powerful these types of statements could be a showing the foolishness of WTS paractices.. and still protecting your "reputation"
Imagine a bookstudy or watchtower discussion where the topic was about how JW attire sets them apart. You could be in total aggreement with the speaker by saying,
"Yes Brother, If we are to truly please Jehovah and avoid disciplinary action be our Elders, we should make certain that our entire wardrobe is chosen with the thought of what is the "approved" attire... While shopping, I like to think, "Would the Brothers on the Governing board give me permission to buy this if they were here watching over me?"
It would be hard not to convey sarcasm but it would sure get my attention!
Eewww... I just threw up a little bit in my mouth! -
